No, not at all, as long as I enjoyed his company and the food. But I can’t promise that I won’t laugh! He’s nice enough to take me to dinner, he can pay for it any way he likes. However, if he turned out to be a cheap tipper, that would bother me. A lot.

it depends, if they’re young, at least they’re trying
But if they’re older like 19+ then yes its a lame move

  11. ~Ashley~ Says:

No i’d think it was awesome that he knows how to save his money and he must not be a broke ass!

  12. PEGGY S Says:

One of mine did, and he also insisted I eat what was on the coupon. At first I was insulted, but he was from England, so I did not get angry. I assumed he was not familiar with how people in the US would feel about it, so I made him a friend for life. I never dated him romantically again, but in later years I explained why the first impression was not a good one. We laughed about it, as he had been working in the States for a couple of years by then. He was more familiar with the culture by then.

By the way, we were both in our thirties!!! He was making mega bucks with a company assigned to the space program!!! He definitely could afford the dinner.

The person is thoughtful of himself, not the partner.

  14. Tweet! Says:

Well, I would get a little turned off if he INTENTIONALLY chose that particular resto because of his coupon. But there would still be a 2nd date (If i like his personality)

  15. Drew Says:

  17. |*| a-m-y |*| Says:

No way! That’d mean that there’d be no arguing about who pays. Plus, it’s efficient!

  18. Maid In Britain Says:

    a little.
if he was short of money i rather him let me know so i could pay or go to a cheaper place.
if he did it all the time, ie stingy with money, instead of being short of cash and trying to save a bit, then it would put me off the guy, i went out with a guy on a date for a meal, we went halfs but for his half he paid mosty with bagged up pennys, i had to sit there why the waitress counted them out it was so embarresing, i never dated him again

  19. Cherry Alifani Says:

just think positively. I think it will be useful. Maybe his money, that should be used for your first date dinner, can be saved for your next date, or for buying you a gift, or to help you both if you have a difficulty in your relationship.

If he got many of that kind of coupon, won’t it be useless if he just throw it away? Maybe he seldom go to dinner without you, so that he seldom use that kind of coupon..

  20. berskek Says:

    yes of course!
